Ration Distribution to Hindu Widows Across Districts of West Punjab

Rahim Yar Khan,West Punjab- December 22,2023.

On the Occasion of Gita Jayanti Rations Provided to Hindu Widows and Needy Families Across
Districts of West Punjab
This year on the occasion of Gita Jayanti Team Panchanada, implemented its Project “Food for
Widows” in select districts of West Punjab region where Hindus are living a stressful life due to
Pakistan’s current political and economic situation. Widows are a special case of vulnerability
and need due to lack of an earning male member in the household in general.

Team Panchanada working on the ground was able to implement a round of ration distribution
among Hindu widows largely because of the generosity of its North America supporters. The
ration supplies included the staple food items such as wheat flour, rice, sugar, lentils, spices,
cooking oil and some other essentials. Panchanada Hindu activists went door to door across
Liaqatpur, Cholistan, Sadiq Abad, Ahmad pur Sharqiyah Districts of West Punjab and distributed
the Food Packages to those in need. Panchanada activists took an active part and played their
role effectively in facilitating the needy at their door steps.

On the occasion, the Hindu Widows, both the young or elderly, appreciated this effort of
Panchanada volunteers and expressed their high gratitude towards our donors for lending a
helping hand to them in fighting food insecurity. Mrs. Komal Chanda, Program Manager of
Panchanada project, expressed her deepest gratitude to the team of volunteers who worked
hard and remained active on the ground to facilitate those in need. She further mentioned that
Panchanada would continue to extend support and assistance for the Hindu community as it
aims to work for the welfare and uplift of the Hindus across the West Punjab region. She can be
contacted at contact@panchanada.org for further details.
The Mission of Panchanada is to reclaim Punjab for the Hindu civilization. Panchanada’s
multi-dimensional effort includes welfare activities in the area of food security, clothing, shelter,
health, education, and vocation, and augmented with cultural/religious/spiritual
empowerment, civic engagement and leadership development. Panchanada’s cultural
renaissance agenda includes promotion of Devanagari script to use with Punjabi language, and
revive upasana at Hindu temples that have fallen to disuse in the region.
